Early vote continues for May 7 election

   Early voting for the May 7 election continues this week through Friday, April 29, and again Monday and Tuesday, May 2-3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.    Election day is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

   State Comptroller Glenn Hegar said that he expects the Texas economy to continue growing back to pre-COVID levels during his remarks at the Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s luncheon Thursday, April 21.    “Two years ago, people were panicking and calling my office,” he said.

   Cattle have been crossing the lower Colorado River just above where it enters the Gulf of Mexico for just over 100 years now.     The Huebner family has been swimming their herd of cattle each spring and fall at the mouth of the Colorado since about 1919.

   Bay City Community Development board members unanimously approved several façade and website grants during their regular meeting, Monday, April 25.     Façade grants were awarded to Stone’s Market and Lisa’s Main Street Salon for outdoor improvements.
