   Early voting for the March 1 primary election began Monday, Feb. 14, and will continue through Feb. 25.      County Clerk Stephanie Wurtz said the early vote times will be (weekdays only) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

   Bay City ISD's Board of Trustees approved the contract of Kelsie Crain to join the district as the new Parent and Family Liaison on Monday, February 7.     Crain, a 2006 graduate of Bay City High School, will lead the district's effort to reduce absence and dropout rates.

   Bay City and Palacios both received impressive increases in February sales tax rebates compared to the same month last year.    Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced that he sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $1.

   Bay City ISD trustees heard a presentation on a possible shared space collaboration between the district and the Boys & Girls Club of Bay City & Matagorda County during its regular meeting Monday, Feb. 7.    All board members were present at the meeting.

   COVID-19 cases in Matagorda County show a downward trend, but the virus still has a significant presence.    “Matagorda County averaged 20 new COVID-19 cases per day over the past seven days,” said MRMC Spokesperson Tiffany Foltyn.

STP’s Capristo completes Executive Leaders Program at Naval Postgraduate School
