Matagorda County Birding Nature Center begins 2022 membership drive

   The Matagorda County Birding Nature Center (MCBNC) announced it has kicked off its 2022 membership drive and hopes to increase its membership rolls so it can continue to fulfill its mission of raising public awareness and involvement in nature through education, conservation and eco-tourism.

BCPD: Girl shot while walking dog

   An 11-year-old girl was apparently shot while walking her on Misty Lane in south Bay City, late Thursday afternoon, Feb. 10, Bay City Police Department reported.    Police determined that the child was walking her dog in the grassy area of 4901 Misty Lane.

   City Council annexed 280 acres last week that’s a key part in opening development in TIRZ 2 between Bay City and Van Vleck.      A public hearing preceded the annexation of the Milberger Tract that will allow development of the Bold Fox Development subdivision.

"Pollard: Subdivision plats often insufficient" by: Mike Reddell

   Precinct 2 Commissioner Kent Pollard said there is insufficient information in some requests for subdivisions that commissioners court is receiving.      Pollard said at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Feb. 14, that some subdivision requests are missing maps that show county roads.
