   Commissioners Court unanimously approved a Chapter 381 agreement with OQ Chemicals at the court’s regular meeting Monday, May 16.    The three-year (2024-2026) Chapter 381 agreement calls for paying the taxes up front then the county will pay out 50% tax rebates to OQ.

   After about 40 minutes in closed session, Tidehaven ISD trustees approved accepting three 313 value limitation applications during their regular meeting, Monday, May 16.

   Bay City Community Development Corporation board members unanimously approved three Business Retention & Expansion grants during their regular monthly meeting, Monday, May 16.    Grants were given to Brightest Blue, LLC, Robert Knox State Farm, and Too Much Scents.

   Bay City’s May sales tax allocation from Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar showed a drop from the same month a year ago.    Palacios’s May sales tax rebate showed an impressive 30% increase from May 2021.

   Bay City ISD school board incumbents James Scardami and Trent Tinnin will retain their trustee positions with Saturday’s election totals.    Scardami has 640 votes, for 61%, over Kimberly Lewis, who received 401 votes, for 38%.    Tinnin was unopposed.
