Matagorda County Fair and Livestock Association’s 2022 Fair and Rodeo royalty winners were chosen last weekend.    Alana Miles was crowned this year’s Rodeo Queen Saturday, Feb. 19.    Miles is joined by first runner-up Martina Rose Hernandez and second runner-up Emily Dunbar.

The Main Street board heard a preliminary update on its annual “Camofest” fundraising event during its monthly meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 9.    “Everyone sold out that day,” said Main Street Program Executive Director Tina Israel.    “We had at least 3,000 people during the event.

BCPD: Girl shot while walking dog

An 11-year-old girl was apparently shot while walking her on Misty Lane in south Bay City, late Thursday afternoon, Feb. 10, Bay City Police Department reported.    Police determined that the child was walking her dog in the grassy area of 4901 Misty Lane.

City Council annexed 280 acres last week that’s a key part in opening development in TIRZ 2 between Bay City and Van Vleck.      A public hearing preceded the annexation of the Milberger Tract that will allow development of the Bold Fox Development subdivision.
