   Port of Bay City Authority commissioners heard updates on the West Basin Bulkhead and Matagorda Harbor Improvement projects at their meeting last Thursday.  Buddy Treybig was the only absent commissioner.

   City Council unanimously approved a resolution in support of a feasibility study for a possible future truck route that directs heavy trucks around the city at their special-called meeting last Tuesday.  All council members were present for the Aug. 12 meeting.

   Bay City Tourism Advisory Council (TAC) reviewed the proposed Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget during their meeting Monday afternoon.  “I want to apologize for not having the proposed budget on our agenda at our July meeting,” said Bay City Communications and Cultural Arts Director Samantha Denbow.

   Matagorda County Commissioners Court took action on the proposed 2025 total tax rate of .3365 per $100 valuation at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Aug. 11.    County Judge Bobby Seiferman noted the levy is about a penny over the 2024 rate.
