   About a dozen Matagorda and Wharton County partners attended the Matagorda Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) annual luncheon meeting last week.Matagorda LEPC is looking at returning to quarterly meetings for next year.

"Registration for Holiday Food Drive will be Nov. 21" by: Jessica Shepard

   Registration for the annual “Matagorda County Holiday Food Drive” opens this Thursday, Nov. 21.  Citizens can sign up from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Ave. H and 4th St. in Bay City.  There is a 1-box limit per household and ID is required for registration.

Correcting line of information claiming Sargent Beach closed

   We need your help in correcting a line of misinformation.  It seems the US Corps of Engineers released a press release that didn’t fully cover the situation along the Gulf Coast.  The press release dated Nov 5, 2024, claimed Sargent beach was closed.
