"Leps sink Brazos, Industrial next" by: Mike Reddell

   Van Vleck routed Brazos in District 14-3A-2 action last Friday with a dominating 45-14 win, highlighted by Leopard running back Corey Austin’s 266 yards with three touchdowns.  The Leps had 460 yards of offense.  Van Vleck quarterback Wade Hutson was 6 of 9 for 83 yards and a touchdown.

"Blackcats rout Brazosport with 535 total yards of offense" by: Mike Reddell

   Bay City routed Brazosport 56-0 in a non-district game last Thursday, with running back Jada Andrews rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns and wide receiver Keaton Nunez with 138 receiving yards and a touchdown.

"Tidehaven crushes Brazos behind 233 rushing yards" by: Mike Reddell

   Tidehaven walloped Brazos 35-7 last week, behind 233 yards of rushing among six Tiger ball carriers.  Tiger quarterback Kale Russell was 12 for 15 for 120 yards passing and a touchdown.  Russell also was Tidehaven’s leading rusher with 78 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns.

"Van Vleck can’t hold halftime lead; falls to Brahmas 40-14" By John Hoffman

   VAN VLECK - The Van Vleck Leopards took at 14-12 halftime lead into the locker room, but it was all East Bernard in the second half as the Brahmas outscored the Leopards 28-0 the rest of the way for the 40-14 win.  With the loss, Van Vleck drops to 2-3 on the season, 0-1 in district play.

7th grade Tigers clobber Brazos

   The Tigers traveled to Brazos on Thursday, Sept. 26, and won 32-6.     DJ Foster had all four touchdowns on a 50-yard run, 2 touchdown receptions from QB Jericho Talbert (70, 30), and a 70-yard punt return.    Running in 2 point scores were: Pete Garcia, RJ Galvan and Tristan Speight.

"Blackcats mount goal-line stand to defeat Sealy 35-34 in overtime" by: Mike Reddell

   Bay City capped an exciting game last Friday when it made a goal-line stand in overtime to defeat the Sealy Tigers 35-34.  Sealy initially tied the game at 35-all, but after a Bay City penalty on the conversion moved the ball closer to the goal, Sealy tried a 2-point conversion.

"Tigers fall to Ganado" by: Mike Reddell

   The Tidehaven Tigers (2-2) will be looking to rebound from last week’s defeat by Ganado when the Tigers face its first district opponent Brazos next Friday.  Tidehaven fell to Ganado 42-6, with 224 total yards of offense, to the Indians’ 498 yards that included 391 passing yards.

7th grade Tigers shut out Ganado

   The 7th grade football Tigers traveled to Ganado last week and won 32-0.    Scoring for the Tigers, QB Jericho Talbert 25 yard TD run, LB RJ Galvan 20-yard fumble recovery TD, RB Bryson Randle and RB Tristan Speight both had 3-yard TD runs.

BCHS Cross County competes at Sweeny

   BCHS Cross Country competed in its 4th meet of the year at Sweeny High School last week.  “We had lots of personal  bests for the 2024 season today,” said Head Cross Country Coach Rilea Sanders.
