"Tiger baseball wins over Rice, Palacios" By Eddie Russell

   On Tuesday, April 9, we traveled to Rice Consolidated and won 10-3.   Winning pitcher was TJ Galvan throwing five solid innings.   Leading hitter was Connor Claxton with four hits.  Cam Johnson had two hits.  On Friday we hosted Palacios and won 4-0.    It was a well-pitched game by both sides.

"Tigers struggle through 2 losses" By Eddie Russell

   Rough stretch for the Tigers continued with two losses this week.     On Tuesday we hosted Edna and lost 16-12.    Taking the loss was Ritchie ZGarcia.    Collecting three hits each were: Connor Claxton, Jechan Duran and Christian Rubio.

Xylan Williams MVP at district meet

   Bay City athletes are advancing to area competition in several events after the recent district meet.  Blackcat Xylan Williams was the MVP at the district meet.  Williams was first in the triple jump, 45’5, second in long jump, 22’2 1/2, third in 200m, third in 4x1, and third in 4x2.

Lady Leps undefeated in district play

   Van Vleck softball picked up two district wins last week to move to 8-0 in district and 16 - 2-1 on the season.    On Tuesday, the Lady Leps defeated Hempstead 11-0 behind a no-hitter from Lakyn Matchett.     Matchett had 10 strikeouts in five innings of work.

"BCJH Panthers compete at Corpus Christi Invitational" By Bob Button

   The Bay City Junior High Panthers recently traveled to Corpus Christi for their CCISD Invitational. All distances in yards.    Our 7th graders finished in a tie for 3rd place out of 9 schools and our 8th grade squad placed 4th out of 12 schools. Complete scores below,” said Swim Coach Bob Button.
