Tidehaven playoffs Tigers face Marion, while Tigerettes will play Poth

   Tidehaven’s Tigerettes won their bi-district game last week against Marion 9-3 and will advance to the area round against the Poth Pirettes.  That game will be at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Cabaniss Athletic Complex in Corpus Christi.  Tiger baseball will have a best of three playoff series vs.

Bay City, Tidehaven, Van Vleck athletes state bound

   Athletes from Bay City, Tidehaven and Van Vleck will be competing at the state track and field meet in Austin May 2-4, after qualifying at the 3A and 4A  regional meets.  Two from BCHS include Iris DeWitt in the discuss and Ke’Maurion LeDay in the 400 meter.

   The Tigers traveled to Hallettsville on Tuesday, April 16, and lost 9-8 in 9 innings.   Ricky Rubio, in relief of TJ Galvan, threw 7 1/3 innings, giving up three runs, striking out six.   Ritchie ZGarcia took the loss, giving up an unearned run in the bottom of the 9th.

Lady Leps win title in come-from-behind win

   For the 3rd time in school history, the Lady Leopards Softball Team claimed a district championship with a tough come-from-behind win against Danbury on Friday by a score of 6-5.   Leading hitters were Serenity Suarez (2-3) with a three-run home run that put the Lady Leps up in the 5th inning.
