Brice Turner District 12-4A-1 Utility Player of Year

    Blackcat senior Carlon Jones was named District 12-4A-1 Co-Defensive MVP and senior Brice Turner was chosen the district’s Utility Player of the Year.    The two were joined by 11 other Blackcats who were picked as First-Team All-District players.

"Tidehaven loses quarterfinal bid to Poth 18-6" by: Mike Reddell

   The Tidehaven Tigers fell to Poth 18-6 in the UIL quarterfinals game at Texas State University stadium in San Marcos, Friday night, Dec. 2.    In a hard-fought game that really wasn’t decided until late in the game, Tidehaven kept the high-scoring Poth in check, but only scored once.

Brooks named defensive MVP

   Van Vleck senior linebacker Sam Brooks was named the District 14-3A-2 Defensive Most Valuable Player (MVP).    Brooks’ MVP selection topped a list of Leopards making the first and second team offensive and defensive teams.

   We competed in the Brazosport Invite Saturday, Dec. 3, with 13 schools participating.    All distances in yards.    Scoring through 12 places.    Individual event results:    Girls 200 free - Lucie Frick, 2nd, 2:16.50, Victoria Sliva, 4th, 2:27.
