"Ladycats set record with 15th shutout "

   The Bay City Ladycats ignored the unpleasant weather conditions and handed the El Campo girls soccer team a 10-0 shutout Saturday.      It’s the girls’ 15th shutout of the season.      The girls maintained their defensive structure that kept El Campo from threatening.

Tigers start season with win over Refugio

Saturday, Feb. 26       The Tigers started off the season on the road Tuesday on Refugio and won by the score of 18-6.       Taking the win on the mound in relief was Jordan Duran pitching three hitless innings striking out four.

Van Vleck defeats Brazos in final game

   The Van Vleck Leopards ended their season with a 54-34 win over Brazos Feb. 15.    “It was a great game to end our season,” said Lep Head Coach Billy Ramey.     “Unfortunately, we really struggled with injuries and illnesses all season,” Ramey added.

Blackcat Coach looks ahead to next season

   Bay City Blackcat Basketball Head Coach Anthony Smith Jr. commented on the team’s loss to Sweeny in the first round of the UIL playoffs in Van Vleck Friday, Feb. 18.   “Yes, it was a tough loss, but I can say it was much improvement through the year,” Smith said.
