   Every time the Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association’s fair and rodeo rolls around in March, I get the urge to buy boots.     Now, I’ve got combat boots, fashion boots, wader boots, and costume boots on hand, and sure, they work when I have the time and place to wear them.

   To the citizens of Matagorda County,    I’ve known Mrs. Sullivan for 10 years plus and have enjoyed her company at church for all this time.      When considering her for Justice of the Peace for precinct 2,     I am sure she has the qualifications of firm-fair and consistent that we all want!!!

   Now, I have to admit that I’ve never played any of the “uncharted” videogames and therefore went into this with very low expectations.     Honestly, outside of the main characters’ on-screen chemistry, there’s nothing too special about this flick.

District Attorney explains frustration in attracting ADAs

   EDITOR’S NOTE: Both Bay City newspapers reported District Attorney Steven Reis’ challenges in hiring an assistant district attorney (ADA) in last week’s editions.    A recent success, unfortunately, turned to frustration as the most recent ADA applicant withdrew.

   I’m done trying to figure out what the weather is going to do!    From one day to the next, it’s a gamble to see if it stays cold even when the sun comes out or if the wind dies down mid-afternoon and I’m left regretting my choice to wear jeans all day.

   We had a chance last week to post three straight weeks of gains last week and the first time in several months.     But then there were over 500-point drops in the Dow on Thursday and Friday. That turned a gain to a loss of 1%.
