Scotty Jones Appointed As New City Manager for Bay City

Bay City, TX– The City of Bay City announced Scotty Jones has officially been appointed by City Council as the City Manager for Bay City effective immediately. Jones was appointed as Interim City Manager on February 14, 2024 after the City’s separation with the former City Manager.

   Commissioners Court approved a name change for Constellation Energy to participate in the Texas Enterprise Zone program at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Nov. 4.  In a resolution the court passed, indicates Constellation South Texas LLC is designated as an enterprise project.

   More than 10,000 ballots were cast in the early voting period in Matagorda County that ended last Friday, County Clerk Stephanie Wurtz told Commissioners Court Monday morning, Nov. 4.  “There were 10,076 votes cast in person,” she said, adding that didn’t include absentee or mail-in ballots.
