   We ended the week with the Supreme Court deciding the President did not have the authority to place tariffs under the specific authority that it was implemented under.    The President immediately announced new 15% tariffs.

What should you do with your tax refund?

   It’s that time of year when tax refunds go out.   If you get a refund this year, how can you make the best use of it?   For starters, you could use your refund to help fund your IRA.

   While I was considering what movie to watch last week, I realized it had been a little bit since my last children’s movie review.   So, I managed to catch “Goat” on the big screen last week and found enough well-timed jokes to keep me entertained.

The nature of rest

   There’s something to be said about achieving eight hours of rest every night.   In theory, it’s a great idea; in reality, clocking in five or six hours might be a more accurate measure.

   I think this might be the first time for me to ever write a column that’s a direct follow-up from a previous one.  Or, at least it’s my first time doing something back-to-back like this.  Usually, my column follow-ups are weeks apart and give our readers too much lull time in between.

   The market moved back slightly from record levels last week even with better than expected jobs data and a lowering of inflation measures.  Maybe just the sell on the news and buy on the rumor.  We are still in good shape, but many have the feeling that the economics are poor.

   Several of my friends had been curious about “Crime 101” and asked me to review it ahead of them seeing it.  So, last weekend, I did just that.  Honestly, it was already on my list to catch based off the stacked main cast members alone.

Settling for less

   Wouldn’t it be nice to just settle down, exit off the rat race freeway, kick back and watch the world go by?  I was asked this question several months ago and my first thought was to say yes, but my instincts whispered to me to think again.

   Football to many people ended last Sunday as the Seahawks buried the New England Patriots 29-13.    I didn’t much care who won but New England seemed to be the underdog, reminding me of an earlier Super Bowl in 1986 when the Patriots were destroyed by the Chicago Bears.
