VAN DORN, ISAAC (ca. 1801–1860).
Isaac Van Dorn (Vandorn), one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists, was born in Pennsylvania about 1801.
At the age of fourteen he was indentured to a farmer for seven years, whom he eventually left.

From Bay City, Hadnott went to statewide fame in anesthesiology

Dr. William Hicks Hadnott, Jr., the fourth child and first son of William Hicks Hadnott, Sr. and Marjorie O’Neil Hadnott, was born June 13, 1928 in Beaumont, Texas.
He departed from this life on Saturday, August 28, 2010.

Millions of dollars in infrastructure projects across Matagorda Country were highlighted in a GrantWorks presentation at Commissioners Court Monday, Sept. 18.
In addition, the court presented the Distinguished Service Award for 2022 to the Matagorda County Historical Commission (MCHC).

Moore House built for a prominent leader

The D.P. and Louise Moore home was built on block 60 in 1902 by builders Hatchett and Large.
The land was purchased from David Swickheimer on Nov. 20, 1894.
Lots 4 - 9 - 2404 Ave. E - were for the homesite, and the other half was used for pasture.

Samuel Fisher lived a complicated life of business, politics

Samuel Rhoads Fisher, secretary of the Texas Navy during the republic era, was born in Philadelphia, Penn. on Dec. 31, 1794.
He was reared and educated in the best schools of that city.
He began life as a government employee in the Naval Stores of Philadelphia.
