   Tourism Advisory Council members unanimously approved six event sponsorship applications at their regular meeting last week.  Members present included Amy Nowlin, Brad Freeman, Shelby Wild, and Natasha Moreno, while Chrystal Folse, Liza Lara, and Kaci Wells were absent.

BCPD promotes 5 officers in City Hall ceremony

   Bay City Police Department promoted five officers during ceremonies Friday at City Hall Council Chamber.   Mayor Robert Nelson provided words of encouragement and Chief Christella Rodriguez and the department commanders officiated the ceremony.

WCJC Foundation awards $92K in scholarships to 23 graduating seniors

   The Wharton Counnty Junior College Foundation announced the awarding of $92,000 in scholarships to 23 graduating high school seniors from across the College’s service area.   Each recipient will receive a $4,000 scholarship to pursue their education at Wharton County Junior College.
