"New Business Spotlight: ‘Bravo & Co Youth Theater’ open to all ages" by: Jessica Shepard

   Bravo & Co Youth Theater celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting Monday afternoon.  Located at 1000 Avenue F, the theater has highlighted its students at several local events, including The Crisis Center’s “6th Annual Light Up the Square” April event.

   Matagorda County Commissioners Court swept through its agenda Monday, as it came out of the Independence Day holiday and two weeks since its last meeting.  There were few people attending the session, in contrast to the crowded conditions of several recent meetings.

"Deputies called on Matagorda man’s death" by: Mike Reddell

   Matagorda County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the death of a Matagorda man last weekend.  Sheriff’s Captain Chris Hadash said the death was initially called in as a welfare concern.  The 59-year-old Lin Scholten, lived in an RV at 467 Peach Street, Hadash said.
