   Lynn Engineering hosted an informational luncheon on how not to fail a windstorm inspection last week.  Roughly two dozen attendees heard windstorm inspection tips from Lynn Engineering Structural Professional Engineer Diego Andrade and Lead Inspector Rondie Singletary on July 1.

BCPD busy with shootings, fireworks calls

   Bay City Police Department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division responded to an unusually busy Fourth of July weekend.   In addition to the normal weekend call volume, officers handled numerous fireworks-related calls throughout the city.

Officers recognized for exceptional enforcement

Courtesy photo Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture and Anchor Point Academy hosted a ribbon cutting last week at the Matagorda County Birding Nature Center (MCBNC) in Bay City, Anchor Academy is Bay City’s newest nature-based private school on 35 acres at MCBNC. The academy is a fully accredited Christian microschool enrolling K-6 full & part-time students in its individualized, project-based program.

City launches ‘Customer Satisfaction Survey’

   The City of Bay City launched a “Customer Satisfaction Survey” online last week.  “Have you interacted with the City of Bay City recently?” reads the City’s June 29 Facebook post.  “Please take a minute and let us know about your experience.

   Over 50 people attended Linea Energy’s “Duffy Solar Community Lunch & Learn” Monday afternoon.  The 500-megawatt (MW) Duffy Solar project is located on about 2,330 acres off of FM 1468 near Buckeye.
