   Bay City had a hard-fought game with Beeville Jones that ended with a 30-23 Blackcat victory at Memorial Stadium Friday, Oct. 31.  The Blackcats, (7-2, 3-1) are ranked second in District 15-4A-1, Jones, (1-8, 0-4) is in last place.

   In a run-dominated game last Friday, Bay City came out well ahead of its longtime rival El Campo 35-17 at Ricebird  Stadium.  The Blackcats had a 14-10 lead at half, but this game also featured explosive plays, and Bay City had plenty of those for 21 second-half points over 7 for El Campo.

   Tidehaven Tigers defeated the Van Vleck Leopards 48-0 in their cross-county game last Friday night at Van Vleck.  Tiger senior quarterback Kale Russell was 23 of 28 passing for 424 yards and three touchdowns.    He also rushed for 37 yards.
