    Grupo Metal featuring Chris Perez returns to Bay City’s annual “Day of the Dead Festival” (DOD) this year.    Perez and the band first took the stage at the 2021 festival.    This year the event is expanding to two days Friday-Saturday, Nov.

    About 100 entries were featured at the annual “Rice Dish Round-Up,” Oct. 17.    “We actually received 115 recipes for the contest but 98 showed up for judging,” said Matagorda County Extension Office 4-H Administrative Assistant Cynthia Page.

   Tickets are selling quickly for Community Actors of South Texas’ production of Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” this weekend.    The play starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 26-28, at the CAST theater, 920 Nichols Ave in Bay City.

    Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) recently announced a collaboration with BridgeYear to host a “Career Test Drive Fair” at Bay City Junior High.     BridgeYear is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students explore career pathways.
