The Bay City Police Department announced a new approach to celebrating National Night
Out in 2026, with the department hosting its first-ever community block party.
This will correspond with the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department’s Open House that evening.
Traditionally, National Night Out has been an opportunity for neighbors to meet one another in their neighborhoods and apartment communities while building stronger relationships with local law enforcement.
In previous years, BCPD participated by visiting neighborhoods throughout the evening.
This year, the department is changing things up.
Rather than spending the evening traveling from neighborhood to neighborhood, the BCPD will bring the community together in one location for an evening focused on building relationships, strengthening community partnerships, and getting to know one another.
The BCPD’s first-ever National Night Out Block Party will be at BCPD 5:30– 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Anyone interested in contributing, becoming a sponsor, participating, or receiving additional information is encouraged to contact Officer Lopez at 979-476-8783.
