Guns, drugs, currency taken in search warrant

   A search warrant executed in the 2900 block of Avenue I July 21, resulted in the seizure of drugs, weapons and currency, Bay City police said.      The search warrant was requested by the narcotics unit after spending months working to build this case.     At about 6:30 p.m.

"Frick reports heavy farm traffic west of Colorado" by: Mike Reddell

   Commissioners Court held a brief regular meeting that also included three items in executive session on Monday, July 24.      Precinct 4 Commissioner Bubba Frick commented that heavy agriculture traffic was still occurring on the west side of the Colorado River.

"4-H Awards Celebration honors Matagorda County kids, adults " by: Jessica Shepard

   Countywide 4-H awards were handed out to children and adults during the annual “4-H Awards Celebration” last Thursday.      This year, two scholarships were awarded to 4-H members Shawn Sneath, Ty Kubecka, and Ayden Smith.

"MCEDC OKs certified site program" by: Mike Reddell

    A certified site program for prospective industries or businesses was discussed by the Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation at its meeting Friday, July 21.      A certified site is one that includes, among other things, title searches, no environmental issues or endangered species.

"BCISD OKs agreement with YMCA" by: Jessica Shepard

   After a brief overview, Bay City ISD trustees unanimously approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement with the YMCA of the Golden Crescent for after-school daycare services during the regular board meeting Tuesday last week.
