February fire calls for county departments

   Bay City Volunteer Fire Department:     On February 6, 2023 at 2:08 p.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to assist Midfield and Markham Volunteer Fire Departments with a house fire on FM 1468.     Matagorda Volunteer Fire Department:     On February 11, 2023 at 7:35 p.m.

BCPD: 2 stabbing victims attack each other

   Bay city police were sent to Fat Grass Restaurant at 1717 7th Street to investigate a stabbing at about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14,     Once on location officers located the stab victim.    Other officers on scene located another subject who appeared to have been assaulted.

   Matagorda County Fair and Livestock Association’s 2023 Fair royalty winners were chosen last week.    Meredith Williams was crowned the 2023 Fair Queen Friday, Feb. 10.    Williams was joined by the first runner-up Ansley Kubecka, second runner-up Victoria Sliva and third runner-up Emily Rodgers.
