   Bay City scored early in the fourth quarter to break a scoreless tie and went on to shut out Brazosport 7-0 there Friday night, Feb. 23.    The win puts the Blackcats (4-1, 1-0) on top, tied with El Campo and Stafford for the District 12-4A-1 lead.

Mason: Airport sign project took flight

   Airport Manager James Mason tells how the new FM 2540 frontage sign at Bay City Regional  Airport came about.    In September 2021, Hurricane Nicholas even at the lowest category, caused devastating damages to our local community with wind shears recorded as high as 75 mph sustained, Mason said.

   Bay City Planning Commission approved the final plat of Bold Fox Development’s 31-acre section 1 subdivision at the commission’s regular meeting Thursday, Sept. 15.

   City Council approved the city’s fiscal 2023 budget and tax rate at its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 13.    The new budget will be $30,825,000, which is $165,000 lower than fiscal 2022 budget of $30,990,500.    The city will keep the same tax rate of $.

"BCISD adopts 2022-23 tax rate" by: Jessica Shepard

   Bay City ISD trustees unanimously approved adopting the 2022-2023 tax rate during their regular meeting, on Sept. 12.    All board members were present for the meeting.    The approved rate is $1.26 per $100 housing valuation.
