Bay City man killed in motorcycle-truck mishap

   A Bay City man died from a pickup truck-motorcycle collision in the 4300 Block of 7th Street Sunday evening, July 10, Bay City Police said.    When officers arrived at the accident scene at about 7:45 p.m.

Police seek whereabouts of woman, child in custody case

   Bay City police are seeking information on a mother and her one-year-old child who are missing in a child custody case, reports show.    The police investigation began about 3 p.m. May 24 when Sgt. Minerva Pena was sent to the police department to speak with a complainant.

BCPD swears in 2 new officers

   Officers John Alvarez and Charles Coombs were sworn in as new Bay City Police Officers by Chief Robert Lister at a ceremony at City Hall Council Chambers July 6.       Alvarez graduated from Nixon-Smiley High School in 2018.

Parachute opens Bay City’s first plasma donation center

   Parachute opened a new plasma donation center on Wednesday, July 6 in Bay City, bringing its modern and consumer-driven donation experience to residents of Matagorda and neighboring counties.    The donation center offers donors an opportunity to earn extra money by donating life-saving plasma.

   Bay City Volunteer Fire Department:    On July 4, at 1:47 p.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire on CR 101.    On July 5, at 3:16 a.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a refuse fire at the 1100 block of Whitson.    On July 8, at 7:15 a.m.
