Two minors hurt in Sargent house fire

   Sargent VFD got the first responder call for a minor with burns to the legs from a structural fire about 15 minutes before 1 a.m. July 28.    Sargent Fire Chief Frank Guidry found two minors with second-degree burns and there was no active fire at the time of arrival.

   Country Music Artist Chris Cagle will headline the 21st Annual Bay City Rotary Club Summer Concert Aug. 20 at Bay City Civic Center.    Rotary Club President Jessica Russell announced Cagle for the concert at the club’s Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture mixer Thursday, July 21.

"New confirmed COVID-19 cases show increase in county" by: Mike Reddell

Matagorda Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases.    “We’ve noticed COVID-19 cases going up, particularly in the past two weeks,” said MRMC CEO J Warren Robicheaux.    “Our lab is seeing an average of 10 positive tests per day,” he added.
