   December 2025, the Texas Comptroller distributed approximately $1.2 billion in local sales tax revenue, a 7.5% increase from December 2024.  December sales tax allocations are based on October 2025 sales.  Bay City December sales tax rebates totaled $634,749, which was down 9.

Miller meets with Latin American delegates on screwworm threat

   Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) hosted agricultural and epidemiological leaders from across Latin America for collaborative meetings to tackle the threat of the New World screwworm last week.

Campos urges caution after lifting burn ban

   Amanda Campos, Matagorda County Emergency Management Coordinator, has officially lifted the county-wide Burn Ban effective immediately.   Residents are now permitted to resume outdoor burning in accordance with all state and local regulations.
