   In a run-dominated game last Friday, Bay City came out well ahead of its longtime rival El Campo 35-17 at Ricebird  Stadium.  The Blackcats had a 14-10 lead at half, but this game also featured explosive plays, and Bay City had plenty of those for 21 second-half points over 7 for El Campo.

   Van Vleck Leopard Head Coach Shannon Permenter was asked what he expected in the Leps game with Rice Consolidated Friday.  “Well, it’s a game we need to win. Rice has struggled, as have we, and we want to finish this season on a winning note.   "Rice has really good talent and lots of speed.

   Tidehaven Tigers defeated the Van Vleck Leopards 48-0 in their cross-county game last Friday night at Van Vleck.  Tiger senior quarterback Kale Russell was 23 of 28 passing for 424 yards and three touchdowns.    He also rushed for 37 yards.
