Lucio expects great game with Rice Cons.

   Tidehaven will have to shake off two weeks of rust when they play Rice Consolidated there this week.     “It should be a great game,” said Tiger Head Coach David Lucio.

Dowell concerned about return from open week

   Van Vleck Head Coach Rodney Dowell is concerned about coming off the off week before playing Danbury there Friday night.    “Yes, our biggest two concerns is the quarterback for Danbury and how our Boys will handle coming out of the open week and two back-to-back wins,” Dowell said.

BCHS Volleyball honors those who help

At the volleyball game against Sweeny Friday, the Ladycats held Teacher Appreciation Night. Each athlete was able to select one teacher that had made the biggest impact on them at BCHS.

Bay City - and most other area high school teams - will have a open date this Friday and a chance to straighten out problems before District 12-4A-1 play begins Friday, Oct. 8.    Bay City (2-2) stands in third, or midway, in the district, behind El Campo (4-1) and Columbia (3-1.

   Van Vleck – The Van Vleck Leopards came out quickly and then used a dominating finish to their first win of the season over the St. Joseph Flyers last Friday night, Sept. 17.    With the win, Van Vleck improves to 1-3 on the season.

"Injury-plagued Tigers will look to younger players with Flatonio coming up Friday" by: Mike Reddell

   With key players sidelined or playing hurt due to injuries, Tidehaven Head Coach David Lucio said the Tigers will count on younger players to step up.    The Tigers are coming off a 45-10 loss to Industrial last Friday, and will host Flatonia (2-2) this Friday.

"Bay City faces old foe in matchup with Sealy" by: Mike Reddell

   Bay City will host a longtime opponent in Sealy this Friday at the new Memorial Stadium.      The Blackcats had their game with Vidor canceled last Friday because of the aftermath problems with Hurricane Nicholas that swept through Matagorda County.
