Deputies work with Marshals, BCPD officers look at shots fired, youth arrest

   Matagorda County Sheriff’s deputies worked with a U.S. Marshals Service’s Fugitive Task Force to track down a wanted felon in the Sargent area, Captain Chris Hadash said.

City Council, state runoff elections

   The June 13 Runoff Election will be a tight race for Place 1 on Bay City City Council – the May 2 election ended with eight-vote difference - and several top statewide races.  In Place 1 City Council race, Cory McCray received 239 votes for 44.67%, while Stacy L. Rowh had 231 votes, 43.18%.

Latino children accounted for the vast majority of students who left public schools this year, according to a new analysis.
